Badge Requests

What does it take? It changes for each gym! Normally, the games increase in difficulty as you progress, but that wouldn't be any fun if characters could just as easily take on the Gyms that are supposed to be for top trainers only. THEREFORE, the gym leaders aren't going to be pushovers like in the games! In order to win a badge, the mods will take into account your current roster and the attacks and advantages to see whether your pokémon is strong enough to win a badge or not.
Each gym leader has a Regular Team of pokemon and an Elite Team of pokemon you can challenge. It's up to a trainer to decide which team to challenge, but if you take on the Elite Team of six level 100 Pokemon, you'll receive double the prize money. The items, however, are not doubled. Excellent for trainers looking for the extra challenge or those looking to make money fast.

They will be compensated for their work as Gym Leaders with a stipend that will cover building costs, labor (the Leader's and any Trainers they may employ), and rewards for victorious challengers. We ask that Aurora Gym Leaders think carefully about the location of their Gym and the difficulty level they wish to present challengers. We also ask that they create their own Badge Request page like this one so that others can request battles with them. To officially request an Aurora League Gym, fill out the provided template and comment here. |
Please use this form to request a badge or a showdown with the Elite Four! Post your request as a comment to this post. Badges will generally be processed once per week, on either Wednesday or during the weekend. Please try not to PM or IM mods about badges (including elite challenges) unless your request has gone unanswered for more than a week.
!!! Please request badges as your character is actually in the general area of the gym!
!!! To preserve the spirit of the game, obtaining badges using recently-inherited Pokémon (ie, Pokemon received from dropped characters) that massively outlevel your own is discouraged. If this happens, you may be asked by the badge mod to revise your team. Inherited Pokemon that your character has had for a while and are the same level as the rest of your character's team are fine to use!
!!! Remember that you must fight all four members of the Elite Four and Champion Lance in a row. You may heal your Pokémon between battles and take a short break, but you cannot leave without ending your challenge.

Badge/Gym Leader: Hive/Bugsy
Elite/Regular: Regular
Team: Here! Izuku will be using: Burnin' the Charizard, Manual the Cramorant, Snipe the Noivern, Kamui the Tangrowth
Battle Details: Izuku found himself back in Azalea for a hot minute so he could watch Ochako challenge Bugsy, and while he was there he decided he'd challenge him himself! While his primarily grass-team still would have a disadvantage normally in a gym like this, Izuku's team has grown in variety considerably since he was in Johto last. As well as strength, due to some nose-to-the-grind training.
Charizard: Burnin', his Charizard, will be the main player in this battle and will be on the field as much as possible. He is...extremely eager to fight and show off his firepower since he's been unable to come with Izuku on a lot of his recent excursions since he's been visiting that Temple with all that WATER and that's not good for Charizards who want to...you know, not die. He's also...uh...a TOUCH OVERLEVELED FOR THIS GYM so while Izuku isn't going to hold back, he's going to at least try to reign Burnin' in from actually burning the place to the ground. If anything he'll be mostly needed against Scizor due to the 4x weakness. But yeah, just: fire moves. All of the fire moves. He has quite a few of them at this point.
Noivern: Izuku's Noivern, on the other hand, is not quite so easily reigned in. Though not as strong as Burnin' or even the rest of Izuku's team he's bringing in in terms of levels, he's undoubtedly the wildest. He acts like a traded Pokemon some days, honestly. He kindof just does what he wants? There's a limit to how much chaos he can cause before Izuku would just return him, but be that as it may...he wanted to give him a chance to battle at the very least, especially since he has a lot of flying type moves that would be super helpful here. So when he can get Snipe to listen, those will be what he focuses on, as well as moves like Screech to lower defense, Tailwind to boost his team's overall speed, and Roost for healing because he's just going to be as annoying as possible both regularly and battle wise, apparently.
Cramorant: Like Snipe, Manual has a host of flying type moves he can use against these bugs. Not quite the spread that Snipe does, but his levels are higher and even though he doesn't have a single thought going on in his head, he will listen to Izuku when it comes to actually like...doing the moves he wants him to do. I cannot promise Manual won't try to eat one of Bugsy's bugs at some point during the battle though, I'm so sorry. He has a handful of stronger water type moves as well- like Dive and Hydro Pump- which, while not doing super effective damage, will provide good extra damage output in a pinch.
Tangrowth: Ah, Kamui. Izuku's tried and true, his pride and joy who hits like a god damn truck. She might be at a disadvantage type wise being pure grass type, but she has one thing that has the potential to be disgustingly dangerous: ancient power. Izuku's used this strategy before and he's not afraid to use it now, though Kamui will be in the back to bring out just in case something goes horribly wrong with the boys and Kamui has to come in and clean up.
AKA: she will spam Ancient Power until she can spam it no more. Any potential omniboosts received during this time will be greatly appreciated, though the RNG gods tend not to like Izuku when luck is involved unfortunately. If something happens to also go horribly wrong with this strategy, she has a lot of status inflicting moves Izuku will bring out to help soften the opposition up.
